I’m planning on teaching this at the 2003 OrigamiUSA convention in New York, so I was practicing it. It’s a very cool model, with dodecahedral symmetry. The name comes from the 90 degree angles in the points of each vertex, that the model is made from twisted strips, and that it is a spikey star shape.

(Note: I lost the original image, and so had to recreate it for this incarnation of the blog, hence the modern date on the image, in case any readers notice and/or care…)
